London Office

The London office has been managed by Jonathan Evans since April 2004 and operates by appointment only for poeple wanting to come and view or order this is to give maximum attention and advice to our customers when viewing and ordering products. I always recommend that customers choosing their first portfolio come in and see the portfolios if they can so that we can go through every aspect from seeing the sample portfolios, seeing the different textures of leathers from different leather suppliers and choosiing fonts. Appointments are never rushed and customers are never under any form of pressure to order.

You do not need to make an appointment to come in if you are repeating an order or you know exactly what you want to order this can be done over the telephone or by email to the London office jonathan@houseofportfolios.co.uk. As Jonathan works on his own it is strictly by appointment only and anyone turning up without first contacting the office for an appointment will be turned away as it is unfair on customers that are booked in for appointments having their appointment interupted.

Please remember that although the London office carries stocks of Acetate Pages and Portfolios available to any customer.

The London office has a particularly good relationship with my Swedish and Danish customers and twice I have travelled to Stockholm to meet customers it is always nice to meet people in person afer dealing with people over the telephone and I have always been made welcome and have had a great few days away. I intend to travell to Stockholm again this summer and also to Copenhagen so if anyone would be interested in a visit in these cities please feel free to contact me so that we can arrange this.

I always operate by appointment only this does not need to be made days in advance although if you live outside London and are here for a limited time it would be worth making an appointment in advance. Although I work Saturday's I only provide Saturday appointments to customers that have ordered through the London office in the past or customers that are coming here through appointments made by agency customers that I deal with in the UK and Scandinavia.

 

Appointments

The majority of customers that I deal with are photographic agencies, photographers, stylist and hair and make-up professionals. The majority are reliable but unfortunatley there are a very small minority of people who make appointments and then telephone and cancel at the last minute or people who just make appointments and do not show. I appreciate that some people have work crop up and need to cancel appointments at the last minute and a telephone call to inform me is appreciated. Unfortunatley people who do not show for appointments and have not bothered to notify me will not be given another appointment or will have to pay in advance to have another appointment.

The only people who have free appointment on Saturdays are professionals represented by agencies that I deal with in London and Scandinavia or established customers of the London office and students from certain photography universities.

Appointments are made at my premesis but in certain circunstances will vist businesses within our industry in Central London W1,N1, NW1 and EC1 postcodes only.

Whilst we do make professional portfolios for Model Agencies please note we do not make cheap model portfolio books with sealed pages for models to take to castings.

Telephone Enquiries

I am quite happy to deal with enquiries over the telephone as long as your telephone number is not withheld. I do not deal with anonymous calls from such shallow people who feel they need to hide their identity. Withheld telephone numbers will not be answered.

For quotes please email me with a telephone contact number in case I need more information to be able to give you a quote. I cannot give an accurate quote without having all the relevant information. This includes the size, type of material that is leather, Suede etc, and the amount of pages required in a portfolio.

The size represent the Image visual area inside the portfolio (Page Size) Some people measure other peoples portfolios measuring the outside cover and think this is what they need to go by to order. If in doubt always ask for advice this is what I am here for. As all our portfolios are hand made we can make portfolios to any specification the sizes listed on this site are standard sizes but we can make any size portfolios to your requirments and you can also supply your personal logos for embossing..

Please note that all measrements are Height x Width and that we sell portfolios on Visual Area/Pages size. A 14 x 11 standard agency portrait portfolio holds 14 x 11" Visual Area Pages/Images the actual portfolio book outside measurement is 14 3/4" x 12". Every Portfolio size refers to the visual area inside the book and not the actual book size of 14 3/4 x 12" that some people mistakenly measure and think they need to order a 15 x 12" portfolio.

Bags/Carrying Cases

All bags/carrying cases are hand made and so are available in all sizes

Do you want a Name and Address Pocket (Window) on bags or just a name?

The bag measurements on this website refer to the pricing categories anything up to portfolios holding 14 x 11" pages/images is set at this price so this includes 12 x 9, 12 x 10", 13 x 9 3/4" etc.

15 x 12, 16 x 12 and A3 come under the pricing of 17 x 14".

If you are ordering bags for portfolios made by another portfolio supplier you need to provide us with the outside measurements of the portfolios Height, Width and Spine Width. Prtfoli book sizes vary by portfolio makers.

Acetate and Polyester pages.

We supply pages to anyone. If your portfolio was made by another portfolio maker and is not a standard size we can order thses in specially but we would need the punching details. It is preferable that you supply us with a page to double check these measurements if you are not exactly sure about the punching (holes for the screws to go through)
